Bio

Collide Over Me was formed in Memphis, Tennessee, in 2013 by guitarist-turned-vocalist Shawn Fitzgerald (formerly of Rail and Surrender The Fall). Joining him were Daniel Dwight (ex-Saving Abel, The Fairwell) on bass and Vince Hood (ex-Rail, Dazed and Confused) on drums.

Their debut single, “What’s Left of Me,” was recorded by David Cowell (Sleep Theory producer) and later featured in the motion picture I’m Not Ashamed. Following Dwight’s departure, Greg Edmondson (formerly of Breaking Point) stepped in on bass. The band soon began work on a four-song EP, also titled What’s Left of Me, which was released in 2015.

In 2014, the band went on hiatus when Fitzgerald joined Harvest Mill as a touring rhythm guitarist. After returning, he relocated to Fort Worth, Texas, and revived Collide Over Me in 2017 with a new lineup featuring Pete Franco (ex-Hazeland, Legacy) on lead guitar, Dale Sprankle (ex-Pulse) on bass, and Austin Ervin on drums.

This lineup went on to record the band’s debut full-length album, Feels Like Hell, produced by Cris Hunter Marshall at Tonal Recording in Haslet, Texas. Released in 2020, the album’s promotion was cut short by the COVID-19 pandemic, leading the band to take another brief hiatus.

In 2023, Collide Over Me returned with renewed energy and a refreshed lineup, featuring Greg Kramer (ex-Waja) on drums. The band recorded two new tracks — the original “The Way That You Are” and a reimagined cover of A Flock of Seagulls’ classic “I Ran (So Far Away)” — produced and engineered by guitarist Pete Franco. The new single is set for release in early April, with the forthcoming album No Love to follow soon after.

Throughout their career, Collide Over Me has shared the stage with an impressive roster of national acts, including Alien Ant Farm, Saliva, King’s X, Full Devil Jacket, Seether, Josey Scott, Hed PE, Smile Empty Soul, Adema, Budderside, Another Lost Year, Adelitas Way, Cold, Breaking Point, One Less Reason, Shallow Side, Artifas, Seasons After, Bobaflex, and Buckcherry.
